Silver Edelweis Award

The Country-wide Presidency of the Hungarian Teacher’s Association in Romania as an acknowledgement for the decade-long educative work, every two years rewards with Silver Edelweis Prize those pedagogues whose career has been exemplary, their work created lasting value.

The HTAR’s regional and county presidents recommend the award for those pedagogues whose outstanding work served the preservation and development of Hungarian public education in Romania and the preservation of mother-tongued cultural heritage. Their activities have contributed to the preservation of our national values. The prize consists of a commemorative medal and a diploma.
